Pressed glass canteen-form souvenir flask commemorating the 33rd National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic, held in Philadelphia, PA, in 1899. One side displays an intricate patriotic lithograph beneath the glass featuring an American eagle, flags, and GAR medal insignia with “H. Byer, 2nd & Walnut St.” identified at the bottom. The opposite side features raised red “U.S.” lettering. Retains original twisted cord strap and tin screw cap. Marked “PATENT APPLIED FOR” along bottom edge.
