A very interesting boy’s rifle in .22 caliber with an unusual action. The barrel tips down for loading, and there is a small bolt action on the side of the breech which both releases the barrel and acts as a safety, rotating the firing pin out of contact with the hammer. Other than that, it outwardly resembles the Remington No. 6 Boy’s Rifle. It is take-down, and is in its original cardboard box with instructions for use and care on the box top. The breech is marked “The Hamilton Rifle No. 27 .22 Cal. Patented Oct. 30, 1900 – Aug. 13, 1907 MFD. By C.J. Hamilton & Son Plymouth Mich. U.S.A.” The box includes the original sales tag and the cleaning rod. 16 inch barrel (mfg. circa 1900-1910). Blued finish, walnut stock. No serial number.

Condition
The main spring is apparently broken, but the sear and action work. There is minor wear to the blue at the muzzle and in a few minor spots. The stock is slightly scratched by the trigger guard. The bore is dark but good. The box is very good, although it is missing a small section on the side. The sales tag has a small section missing at the top, and has been taped.
