.60 caliber. 38.25" pinned two-stage octagon to round barrel. NSN. Heavily oxidized metal surfaces, brass furntiure, walnut stock. Single shot flintlock muzzleloading smoothbore trade fowler. 5.375" convex "banana" lock with teat at rear is unmarked, with a detachble, unbridled rounded and fenced pan and swan neck cock with replaced top jaw and screw. Lock appears to be in orignal flint. An old rear sight dovetail is empty on the top of the barrel, no front sight. No markings are present. Early production features include the lack of a buttplate and the tang screw entering from the bottom of the gun, rather than the top. Includes an old wood ramrod secured by a single sheet brass pipe. A solid example of an 18th century flintlock trade gun.

Stock with moderate wear, forend shortened about 4" or so. Wood with scattered bumps, digns, mars and wear consistent with age.
