Content-rich group of three Civil War letters representing both Confederate and Union perspectives across distinct theaters of the war. The Sabine Pass, Texas letter (January 25, 1864) reflects a Confederate soldier’s concerns over irregular mail delivery and domestic matters, written from a strategically important Gulf Coast position tied to blockade-running activity. The Culpeper Court House letter (April 22, 1864), from a soldier of the 106th New York, discusses preparations for Grant’s Overland Campaign, including references to recent illness, camp conditions, and anticipation of imminent movement. The third letter, written from Fort Brown, Texas (June 17, 1864), describes garrison life along the lower Rio Grande following Union occupation, noting harsh environmental conditions, morale, and speculation on the war’s duration. Together, the letters offer a geographically diverse and balanced view of soldier experience, campaign readiness, and coastal occupation during the later war years. Pickup & Shipping: Free pickup in Gardnerville, NV. FedEx Ground/Home Delivery within the continental U.S.: $30 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing). Combined shipping available.
