A substantial 25 lb. green-painted metal powder keg marked by the DuPont Company of Wilmington, Delaware. This example bears a large circular “DuPont Rifle” label dated 1903, along with a hand-painted inscription reading “ Schluckebier Hardware, Petaluma Cal.” This hardware company was active in early 20th-century Petaluma and is documented in a 1908 photograph, helping to confirm the California provenance and distribution history of the keg. A unique piece of West Coast powder trade history.
