J.C. Higgins Model 20 Shotgun with PowerPac combination compensator and choke (choke tube marked "medium range"). 12 Gauge (2 3/4" shells), 26.75" barrel (including built in compensator/ choke), NSN "no serial number" (made before that was required), circa 1946-1962. Finished blue with walnut stock and pump. Length of pull: 14", drop at comb: 1.5", drop at heel: 2.5". J.C. Higgins was a Sears and Roebuck trade name used on rifles and shotguns between 1946-1962. High Standard was the real maker. They didn't begin marking & selling the gun themselves until a few years later. When they did it was sold as the High Standard Model 200. The Power Pac compensator and choke worked by having shot load and it's wadding jump a gap between the muzzle of the barrel and the choke tube insert thus venting gasses out the side reducing recoil. The choke tubes are threaded on and easily changeable, this one has the "medium range" tube. This was designed before plastic wads and worked as intended. Modern loads have been known to shave off bits of the plastic wad when jumping the gap. Dimensions: 46" long overall. This firearm is modern and must be shipped to a FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENCE HOLDER or a CURIO AND RELICS FFL HOLDER! Processing and shipping within the Continental US $150 . All FedEx packages are sent with Direct Signature Required and insured at full replacement value for a fee of 1.5% of the purchase price, unless buyer accepts complete liability in writing. Discounts given on combined lot shipping.
