An extensive collection of approximately 260 antique composition toy soldiers and mounted cavalry figures, likely of German manufacture and representing Napoleonic-era French infantry and cavalry regiments. The collection includes marching line infantry, grenadiers in bearskin shakos, voltigeurs, musicians, standard bearers, and mounted cavalry officers and troopers, many retaining original hand-painted decoration and weaponry. Uniforms are rendered in traditional Imperial French blue, white, red, and green color schemes, with elaborate cavalry saddle blankets, plumes, sabers, lances, and regimental distinctions throughout.

The figures appear to date from the first half of the 20th century and are stylistically consistent with well-known European makers such as Elastolin, Lineol, or related composition military figure manufacturers. Mounted examples are particularly notable for their sculptural modeling and survival rate, as cavalry figures of this type are substantially scarcer and more fragile than infantry examples. Also included are loose original rifles, bayonets, and accessories, offering restoration and conservation potential.

Napoleonic toy soldiers became especially popular in Germany during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when firms such as Hausser Elastolin and Lineol produced elaborate military miniatures depicting the armies of Napoleon Bonaparte and Imperial Europe. Composition figures of this type, particularly mounted cavalry and musician examples, are increasingly difficult to find in substantial surviving groupings due to the fragile nature of their construction and the losses typically sustained through decades of handling and storage.
