Napoleonic Briquet Saber marked "Joestp" on the right ricasso.
This sword was found in the attic of Colonel Charles Edgar Edgett by one of the subsequent owners of the home (3890 Osler St. Vancouver, B.C.). Edgett was a veterinarian in the Canadian army in WW1 and won a DSO for actions at Vimy Ridge. He later became chief of police in Vancouver. This sword was likely a souvenir from his time in France.
Dimensions: 22.25" blade, 28" overall.
