Presentation Percussion Target Pistol made by Joseph Golcher in ~.30 cal. Has 10.25" barrel, NSN, circa 1825-1860. Finished white with wood grip and pewter fore end cap.
Engraved Presentation on buttplate: "Presented to E.T. Shrode Dec 25 1890" Top of barrel deeply stamped "E.P. Shrode". The lock was made by Joseph Golcher, full name in a scroll ahead of the hammer. He made percussion and flint locks circa 1825-1860. Taking the style of the pistol and the operating window of the maker into account, this pistol was already quite vintage when it was gifted in 1890.
