Well-made eagle-top shield badge issued to a Sergeant of the Inglewood Police Department, featuring SERGEANT across the upper blue enamel banner, with INGLEWOOD and POLICE below and a RETIRED panel at base bearing engraved service dates “1-6-26” and “9-30-45.” The center displays the City of Inglewood seal within a white enamel ring, set against a radiating sunburst field and framed by laurel wreath edging. The reverse is stamped “CARL ENTENMANN JLY. CO. / LOS ANGELES, CAL.” and retains its period pinback assembly. The badge also bears an engraved name on the reverse, “O. G. MITCHELL,” consistent with retirement presentation. Carl Entenmann Jewelry Company of Los Angeles was a respected early Southern California badge manufacturer, and this example reflects higher-grade mid-century municipal insignia construction.
