.30-06. 24" barrel. SN: 236756 (mfg. ca.1917). Blued finish, single bolt walnut S stock without finger grooves. Bolt action fixed magazine rifle with folding tangent rear sight marked to "27", hooded front sight, bayonet lug, sling and stacking swivels. barrel marked RIA/6-13 . The mismatch between receiver production date and barrel date is potentially explained by the pause in production at Rock Island at #234,830 in 1913 with production not starting again until 1917 at 234,831. Older barrels were likely only hand and were used up on early 1917 produced rifles. NOTE: RIA M1903 Rifle with serial numbers under 258,507 are considered unsafe for shooting due to the heat treatment used on the receivers.
This firearm is modern and must be picked up or shipped to a FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE HOLDER or a CURIO AND RELICS HOLDER.

Condition
Good. Bore apparently good but heavily greased. Metal with traces of finish and lightly oxidized grayish brown patina. Markings in metal clear, none in wood. Mechanically functional action. Wood sanded and with scattered bumps, dings and mars.

- California Residents — California residents holding a valid Curio & Relic License may pick up eligible firearms directly from our Nevada facility; however, Nevada Gun Auctions does not ship C&R firearms directly into California. - Shipping — All Nevada Gun Auctions shipments are sent via FedEx with adult signature required and insured for 1.5% of the purchase price unless waived in writing. Shipping costs for each lot are published within the lot description. Handguns are required by law to ship via FedEx 2Day Air.
