WWII-era U.S. Navy diving knife manufactured by Union Cutlery Co. of Olean, New York, bearing the early KA-BAR trademark and retaining its original brass scabbard. The knife features a wood grip with turned ring decoration and metal pommel cap, a single-edged blade with sawback spine, and threaded guard assembly designed to secure the knife within the heavy brass sheath. Accompanied by a braided rope lanyard. Diving knives of this pattern were carried by Navy divers and underwater demolition personnel during the Second World War and represent one of the more distinctive specialized edged weapons of the period.

Dimensions: 13.5 in. overall; 7 in. blade; scabbard approximately 2.75 x 2.75 x 13.5 in.

Pickup & Shipping: Free pickup in Gardnerville, NV. FedEx shipping within the continental U.S.: $40 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing). Combined shipping available.

Condition

Blade retains visible KA-BAR and Union Cutlery Co. markings with scattered light oxidation, sharpening, and handling wear. Brass scabbard exhibits age patina and surface wear consistent with use and storage. Wood grip remains intact with minor dings and finish wear. Rope lanyard present. Overall a well-preserved example displaying honest service wear.
