Framed World War One bonds poster "Joan of Arc Saved France, Save Your Country Buy War Savings Stamps". This is a rare version of the "Joan of Arc" poster. Generally the phrase "Women of America" appears over the save your country line however, on this version it does not. In 1918 the
US Treasury commissioned
William Haskell Coffin (1878-1941) to illustrate this poster as part of the war savings stamps campaign. They were conceived of to allow low income Americans to also contribute. The stamps were a lot cheaper than a war bond. If enough were saved they could be exchanged for a full war bond. The printing information reads: New York: The United States Printing & Lithograph Co.
