Imperial German Model 1916/1917 Stahlhelm retaining its original field-gray finish and stamped “ET64” for Eisenhüttenwerk Thale. The helmet retains its original M17 liner band with surviving leather liner pads and original chinstrap. Of particular interest is a period paper address label affixed to both the exterior and interior of the helmet identifying:
“Miss Elizabeth T. Nimick, 6101 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.”
Research suggests the named recipient was likely Elizabeth Tyson Nimick (1895–1976) of the prominent Pittsburgh Nimick family. She later married Lt. William Stevenson MacLaren Jr., a 1920 graduate of the United States Naval Academy who gained national attention after disappearing in 1931 during an attempted transatlantic flight from Bermuda to the Azores. The surviving address label provides an unusual and well-documented American provenance, suggesting the helmet was preserved as a wartime souvenir and returned to the United States following the First World War.

Condition
Original field-gray finish with scattered handling marks, oxidation, and age wear. Leather liner pads remain present but exhibit expected dryness and wear. Original chinstrap survives with significant age-related deterioration. The paper address labels exhibit losses, staining, and fading but remain substantially legible. An untouched example retaining its original liner system and distinctive provenance label.

- 2–4 firearms: $50 each
- 5–9 firearms: $25 each
- 10 or more firearms: $15 each
Shipping costs within the continental United States generally range:
- Handguns: $35–40 each
- Long guns: $75–100 each
All private-party purchases of modern firearms will be delivered to Guns N Ammo as soon as possible following Nevada Gun Auctions’ receipt of payment in full.
- California Residents — California residents holding a valid Curio & Relic License may pick up eligible firearms directly from our Nevada facility; however, Nevada Gun Auctions does not ship C&R firearms directly into California. All such transactions will be handled exclusively through Guns N Ammo.
- Shipping — All Nevada Gun Auctions shipments are sent via FedEx with adult signature required and insured for 1.5% of the purchase price unless waived in writing. Shipping costs for each lot are published within the lot description. Handguns are required by law to ship via FedEx 2Day Air.
