A pair of desirable mid-19th century marked powder flasks, consisting of a Colt’s Patent embossed copper pistol flask featuring the classic spread-winged eagle, crossed revolvers, and E Pluribus Unum banner, together with a Massachusetts Arms Company flask decorated with the firm’s Chicopee Falls cartouche and the raised-arm-with-rifle motif. Both were produced for high-quality percussion revolvers marketed in the 1850s–1860s, reflecting the transition-era American firearms industry and the stylistic branding favored by major manufacturers. Each retains its original spring-loaded cutoff and tapered charger spout, with surfaces showing authentic age and unpolished patina. Dimensions Approx.: 5 x 2 in. (Colt) and 4.375 x 1.875 in. (Massachusetts Arms) Provenance: The Al and Carol Cali Collection. Pickup & Shipping: This lot may be picked up free of charge in Gardnerville, NV. It can also be delivered to the Annex Auctions facility for pick up in Sacramento for 25 dollars pre-invoice. Shipping via FedEx within the continental U.S. for 50 dollars plus 1.5 percent insurance (unless waived in writing). Combined lot shipping available.

Condition

Very good for age, showing rich, untouched patina and typical wear from use and handling. The Colt flask exhibits scattered darkened toning and light mottling, with crisp embossing and a functioning charger assembly. The Massachusetts Arms example shows smoother amber patina with gentle handling marks and a fully intact stamped panel; both cutoffs operational.
