Distinctive grouping of two German militaria items. The first is a Stalingrad commemorative cross featuring a central national eagle and swastika above a banner reading “Stalingrad,” the cross arms decorated with stylized foliage and arrow motifs. Pieces of this type were produced as commemorative veterans’ items referencing the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the most consequential engagements on the Eastern Front during the Second World War. Accompanying the cross is a small Third Reich eagle stick pin depicting the national eagle perched above a circular wreath enclosing a swastika, mounted on a twisted shaft pin intended for wear on civilian clothing as a patriotic or political insignia.
