A small grouping of two German Third Reich civil decorations. The first is the Mother’s Cross (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter), finished in blue and white enamel over a gilt cross with radiating rays behind, the central roundel bearing a swastika within the inscription “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER.” The reverse is dated “16 Dezember 1938.” Instituted in 1938, this decoration was awarded to German mothers in recognition of large families and contributions to the state. The second decoration is a German Civil Service Long Service Cross for 18 years, a bronze cross suspended from a dark blue ribbon, the obverse featuring the national eagle and swastika and the reverse displaying the number “18.” Instituted in 1938, these awards recognized long and faithful service in government or public administration.

Very good. Mother’s Cross enamel largely intact with minor wear to the gilt finish and ribbon showing light age and handling. Civil Service cross with even patina and moderate surface wear consistent with age; ribbon shows minor fraying and handling wear.
