Well-defined pair of German WWII combat badges, both die-struck in zinc. The Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge features an oval oak leaf wreath surmounted by a naval eagle clutching a swastika, enclosing an exploding sea mine rising from stylized waves; the reverse bears a maker’s mark “R.K.” for Rudolf Karneth & Söhne, Gablonz. Instituted in 1940, it was awarded to officers and enlisted personnel of minesweeping, escort, and anti-submarine units for operational service at sea. The Luftwaffe Flak Badge depicts an anti-aircraft gun within an oak leaf wreath beneath a Luftwaffe eagle and swastika; the reverse shows a maker’s mark associated with Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid (GWL). Instituted in 1941, it was awarded to anti-aircraft personnel for combat achievement and sustained effectiveness in air defense operations. Both examples are of solid die-struck construction with integral hardware, representing naval and air defense branches of the German armed forces.

Good overall, both badges exhibiting expected zinc oxidation and surface wear. The Minesweeper Badge retains traces of gilt on the wreath with darker toning to the central device; the Flak Badge shows a uniform matte gray patina with moderate finish loss. Both display age-consistent wear and remain structurally sound.
