Well-preserved grouping of three German Third Reich campaign and service decorations. The first is the Eastern Front Medal, often referred to by collectors as the “Eastern Front” or “Winter Campaign” medal, awarded for service during the harsh winter campaign on the Eastern Front between 1941 and 1942. The obverse features the national eagle clutching a swastika beneath a steel helmet, while the reverse bears the inscription “Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42.” The second decoration is the Italian-German Campaign Medal for Africa, issued by the Kingdom of Italy in recognition of German and Italian forces serving in the North African campaign. The obverse depicts armored figures standing over a fallen adversary with a fortress motif, surrounded by the inscription referencing the German-Italian campaign in Africa. The third medal is the West Wall Medal, instituted in 1939 and awarded to military personnel and civilians involved in the construction and defense of the German Westwall defensive line. The obverse shows the national eagle above crossed sword and shovel, symbolizing military and labor contributions to the defensive works.
