Well-matched grouping of four mid-20th century Inglewood Police-related badges, including an Inglewood Auxiliary Police badge numbered 58, an Inglewood Police Cadet badge numbered 3, and two eagle-top Inglewood Police badges. The Auxiliary example features the classic oval shield with applied star and blue enamel lettering, while the Cadet badge retains its blue enamel rank panels and City of Inglewood seal. The two Police badges display the traditional eagle-over-shield format with blue enamel “POLICE” panels and central city seals. Maker’s marks include “ENTENMANN-ROVIN CO./GENUINE ‘CARLTONE GOLD’/‘PLATILOY SILVER’/PICO RIVERA, CALIF.” on the Cadet badge and “ENTENMANN-ROVIN CO./GENUINE ‘CARLTONE GOLD’/LOS ANGELES 15” on the two eagle-top Police badges; the Auxiliary badge is unmarked. The “Los Angeles 15” postal zone marking reflects pre-1963 production. Handwritten identification labels are present on the reverse of the two eagle-top Police badges. Instituted as part of the City of Inglewood’s municipal policing structure, these badges represent auxiliary, cadet, and regular service roles within the department during the mid-20th century.
