Distinctive group of four Inglewood, California police-related badges, comprising a Sergeant shield, a Traffic wing badge, a Police Reserve badge, and a standard eagle-top Police shield. Instituted in 1908, the Inglewood Police Department served the growing Los Angeles County community; badges of this type were issued to sworn officers and reserve personnel for official identification and rank distinction. The largest example is a gold-tone Sergeant badge with blue enamel panels reading “SERGEANT,” “INGLEWOOD,” and “POLICE,” centered by the City of Inglewood seal, with chevrons at the base denoting supervisory rank. Accompanying this is a gold-tone winged Traffic badge with blue enamel “TRAFFIC” panel and central city seal for officers assigned to traffic enforcement duties. Also included is a silver-tone eagle-top badge with ribbon reading “POLICE RESERVE,” denoting auxiliary service, and a gold-tone eagle-top Police shield with blue enamel “POLICE” panel and central medallion representing a standard patrol designation. The Sergeant and Traffic badges are reverse-marked “ENTENMANN-ROVIN CO. / GENUINE ‘CARLTONE GOLD’ / PICO RIVERA, CALIF.” and the eagle-top Police badge is marked “L.A. STAMP & STATY. CO.”; the Reserve example appears unmarked. These Southern California maker attributions are consistent with mid-20th-century municipal production and add regional collector interest.

Very good, with light to moderate surface wear consistent with age and service use. Enamel panels remain largely intact with minor abrasions. Metal finishes show areas of patina and oxidation. Pin-back assemblies are present on all examples; functionality not tested.
