Attractive group of four Inglewood, California police badges representing supervisory rank and reserve service designations, including a Sergeant eagle-top shield, a Lieutenant badge with blue enamel title panel, and two distinct Reserve badge forms. Instituted in 1908, the Inglewood Police Department issued badges of this type to sworn officers and reserve personnel for identification and rank distinction. The Sergeant badge features traditional eagle-top form with gold-tone finish. The Lieutenant example retains blue enamel “LIEUTENANT” panel above the City of Inglewood seal, denoting supervisory rank. One Reserve badge is an eagle-top shield reading “POLICE RESERVE,” while the other oval form reads “RESERVE INGLEWOOD POLICE,” reflecting variation in auxiliary identification styles across production periods. Maker marks include “ENTENMANN / LOS ANGELES 15” on the eagle-top Reserve badge, “ENTENMANN / LOS ANGELES” on the oval Reserve badge, and “ENTENMANN-ROVIN CO. / GENUINE ‘CARLTONE GOLD’ / PICO RIVERA, CALIF.” on the Lieutenant badge; the Sergeant example appears unmarked. The combination reflects mid-century production across the Entenmann and Entenmann-Rovin periods and retains strong Southern California collector appeal.
