Well-preserved grouping of three Inglewood Police–related badges, including an Auxiliary Police badge numbered 42, a Reserve Inglewood Police badge, and a Policeman Inglewood Police badge numbered 38, each reflecting traditional mid-century California municipal badge design with raised eagle crests, laurel wreath borders, radiating sunburst centers, and applied enamel rank panels. The Auxiliary badge is finished in silver tone with blackened lettering and displays badge number 42 within a rectangular cartouche; the Reserve badge is similarly finished in silver tone with circular central seal and star motif; and the Policeman badge is gilt with blue enamel rank panels and displays badge number 38. The reverse of the Policeman badge is engraved with an officer’s name and identification number, adding a degree of personalization and historical interest. Maker’s marks include “ENTENMANN / LOS ANGELES” where present. Instituted as part of municipal law enforcement identification programs of the 20th century, such badges were issued to sworn officers and auxiliary or reserve personnel for official service and authority identification.
