An elegant late 19th to early 20th century gentleman’s walking cane featuring a carved ivory handle with a gently curved crook form. The handle is intricately decorated with a raised ribbon motif that twists around the grip, interwoven with stylized foliage. The ribbon bears what appears to be incised script, though the inscription is now illegible from wear or age. The creamy ivory has aged to a warm patina and is mounted with a silver-plated collar adorned with a finely chased ropework design. The shaft is crafted from a rich, ebonized hardwood and terminates in a metal ferrule. Handle Length±: 5 in. Shaft Length±: 31.75 in. Overall Length±: 36.75 in. This lot may be picked up free of charge in Gardnerville, NV. Shipping via FedEx Ground/Home is available within the continental U.S. for $100. All shipments include Direct Signature Required and full replacement value insurance at a rate of 1.5% of the purchase price, unless the buyer accepts full liability in writing. Combined lot shipping is typically discounted. Important Notice on Ivory Restrictions: Due to state law, this item cannot be shipped to the following jurisdictions, regardless of age or percentage of ivory content: Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Washington, or the District of Columbia. Condition

Very good condition. The ivory handle is well-preserved with only minor age-appropriate surface wear and no cracks. The carved decoration remains crisp, though the inscription has faded. The shaft shows light finish wear and retains its straight profile. The silver collar and ferrule are secure and show only minor tarnish.
