A remarkable cane featuring a finely carved ivory handle of a tiger’s head with an extended foreleg and outstretched paw, claws bared as if striking prey just beyond its face. The tiger is rendered with expressive detail, showcasing etched striping, flared ears, and intense eyes. The dynamic composition captures the moment of attack, with the paw dramatically projecting forward to form the crook of the handle. The handle is set above a collar marked "Sterling .925 Fine," on a natural hardwood shaft with subtle knots, tapering to an ebonized ferrule tip. A superb example of animalier carving in ivory. Dimensions approx.: total height 35 ins., handle length 5 ins. Pickup & Shipping: This lot may be picked up free of charge in Gardnerville, NV. Condition

Very good overall with expected age wear. The ivory handle shows minor age-related hairlines typical for the material, with no major losses or repairs observed. The silver collar retains clear hallmarks and a pleasing patina. The hardwood shaft is straight and sound, exhibiting light surface scuffs and a few small dings from handling. The ebonized ferrule tip shows some slight chipping and wear, consistent with use.
