World War One trench armor, often called Grabenpanzer or Sappenpanzer. This is the chest plate piece. The armor would have been segmented in a chest plate, two abdomen plates, and a crotch plate. These other pieces are no longer present. The armor was intended to help protect soldiers who tended to be stationary and easily targeted like sentries, machine gunners, and snipers.
