Single action pistol with fixed notch rear sight, small round blade front sight, wide checkered spur hammer, smooth face long trigger, smooth flat mainspring housing and lanyard ring in butt. Left of slide marked MODEL OF 1911. U.S. NAVY , other standard Colt markings and with circled WPG inspection above magazine release. In correct serial number range for US Navy contract guns, with this one in the group of 1,000 that ran from 12,501 to 13,500. No inspection marks on barrel other than a 5 underneath forward of the lug, no visible inspection mark on top or rear of slide. Top inner face of frame marked with a non-serif H and a 4 . A very scarce, first year of production Navy contract pistol, with only 6,000 USN pistols produced that year. Includes a single two tone, lanyard loop magazine in fair condition.

Good to Very Good. Bore heavily greased with strong rifling. Metal with strong traces of blue, showing flaked and worn loss, some scattered surface oxidation and lightly scattered minor pinpricking. Markings remain clear and crisp. Mechanically functional action when cycled by hand. Grips with moderate wear, dings and mars.
