A Taishō–early Shōwa era Japanese decorative wakizashi-length sword, featuring cast and gilt-accented fittings and a machine-made blade. The tsuba rim is stamped 尚武館製, translated “Made by Shōbukan,” a known producer of martial-arts and display-grade swords during the early 20th century. The tsuka is wrapped in dark green ito over samegawa panels with cast menuki. The lacquered saya includes molded suspension hardware, typical of civilian parade or export swords of the period. Blade shows a polished surface with no visible hamon and a chipped habaki at the ha-machi.
Dimensions: 23¼” blade including tang; 18¾” blade from tsuba to tip; 17¾” cutting edge; 25¼” overall length sheathed.
