This U.S. Model 1903 dress saber features a bright, polished steel blade with decorative etching, including the maker’s round Wm. H. Horstmann Co., Philadelphia mark near the ricasso and the owner’s name “Stanford C. Wastell” within the etched panel. The saber is fitted with a brass-toned guard and knuckle bow with scrollwork, and a molded black grip (finger-grooved) with brass-toned mounting at the guard. The steel scabbard is accompanied by suspension rings/mounts as shown.
