This U.S. Model 1903 dress saber features a bright, polished steel blade with decorative etching, including the maker’s round Wm. H. Horstmann Co., Philadelphia mark near the ricasso and the owner’s name “Stanford C. Wastell” within the etched panel. The saber is fitted with a brass-toned guard and knuckle bow with scrollwork, and a molded black grip (finger-grooved) with brass-toned mounting at the guard. The steel scabbard is accompanied by suspension rings/mounts as shown. Dimensions: Blade length: approximately 32 in. Overall length: approximately 38.5 in. Condition

Overall good presentation. Blade remains bright with visible etched decoration and named panel; scattered light handling marks and fine surface scratches consistent with age and use. Hilt shows typical wear to the finish with minor scuffs and rubbing; scabbard with scattered surface wear and small areas of finish loss/spotting consistent with storage and handling.
