An English oval brass percussion cap box dating to around the mid-19th century, featuring a hinged lid with spring tension and a suspension ring at the top. The plain, unmarked exterior and smooth, patinated brass body suggest sporting or officer’s field use. The interior is hollow, designed for storing loose percussion caps rather than dispensing them, typical of cap boxes carried in hunting kits or shooting pouches during the percussion era.
