A striking and refined gentleman’s cane featuring a spherical ivory knob handle intricately inlaid with gilt brass foliate quatrefoils in the Louis XIV style. The ball-shaped ivory grip is turned and slightly faceted, topped by a short ivory collar ringed in brass. The decoration is evocative of André-Charles Boulle’s marquetry work, showcasing French craftsmanship of the 19th century. The shaft is a straight, well-polished hardwood with a tapering form and a horn ferrule at the base.
