This elegant late 19th-century gentleman’s walking cane features a finely carved ivory crook handle adorned with applied sterling silver leaf motifs, a popular decorative style of the Victorian period. The silver elements extend around the top and along the ferrule, showcasing crisp repoussé detailing and engraved initials on the silver cap. The handle is mounted on a rich, straight-grain rosewood shaft, tapering to a silver collar and a polished metal ferrule at the base. The cane strikes a refined balance between naturalism and luxury, making it both a functional item and a collector’s display piece. Length of shaft: 34" / length of ivory handle 7" / overall 36.5" Pickup & Shipping: This lot may be picked up free of charge in Gardnerville, NV. Condition

Very good overall. The ivory handle shows minor age-related hairlines but no losses or repairs. The silver mounts retain sharp detail with some oxidation and tarnish consistent with age. The shaft is straight and retains a warm finish with only light surface wear. The ferrule is intact.
