A 19th-century French or New Orleans–influenced dagger featuring a narrow double-edged blade with foliate etching near the ricasso. The hilt is fitted with a straight iron crossguard terminating in rounded finials, exhibiting a dark, untouched patina consistent with age. The grip appears to be of ebonized wood or horn, carved with a distinctive fan motif at the pommel end, a stylistic element often associated with Southern or Creole adaptations of European forms. The blade’s decorative etching, combined with the simple yet elegant guard and sculptural grip, reflects the blending of French craftsmanship with regional American tastes, particularly in port cities such as New Orleans during the mid-to-late 19th century. The dagger is accompanied by its original scabbard, fitted with a metal throat and tip, showing expected wear from age and use.

Pickup & Shipping: Free pickup in Gardnerville, NV. FedEx shipping within the continental U.S.: $50 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing). Combined shipping available.
