Kriegsmarine Auxiliary Cruiser Badge (Hilfskreuzerabzeichen), die-struck zinc alloy with gilt wreath and eagle surmounting a silvered globe and sailing warship in relief. The Viking-style ship symbolizes naval raider operations across the seas, with the globe depicting Germany’s worldwide reach. Reverse fitted with vertical pin-back, hinge, and catch. Issued beginning in 1941 to recognize crews of German merchant and auxiliary raiders for outstanding performance during long-distance commerce-raiding missions.
