Well-detailed die-struck badge featuring an oval oak leaf wreath surmounted by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a swastika, enclosing a central depiction of a surfaced U-boat cutting through stylized waves. The reverse is stamped “SCHWERIN BERLIN 68,” a known retailer mark associated with wartime production and distribution. Constructed in gilt-finished brass with a solid, one-piece design, retaining a warm golden tone with areas of natural patina. Instituted in 1939, the U-Boat War Badge was awarded to U-boat crews who completed qualifying patrols or distinguished themselves in combat operations during the Atlantic campaign.

Very good, with moderate wear to the gilt finish and areas of oxidation visible on both obverse and reverse. Surface shows honest age-related patina, particularly along the pin and hinge. No structural damage observed.
