Small-scale cast iron signal or saluting cannon mounted on a compact wheeled carriage, likely produced as a decorative, ceremonial, or signal piece rather than a functional artillery model. The cannon features a short barrel with raised reinforce rings, mounted to a simple iron carriage with two spoked wheels and a curved trail. Construction throughout appears cast iron with an aged, utilitarian finish.
The form loosely echoes 19th-century field artillery but at a reduced scale, consistent with late 19th to early 20th century signal cannons, desk cannons, or commemorative pieces commonly used for celebrations, parades, or novelty firing (black powder blanks). No visible maker’s marks observed. Retains a pleasing untouched surface with stable oxidation and wear consistent with age.
