.36 caliber. 7.5" octagonal barrel. SN: 71958 (mfg. ca. 1857). Blued and color casehardened finish, iron backstrap and small triggerguard with sling swivel, one-piece walnut grip. Single action percussion revolver with six-chambered unfluted cylinder, toggle link loading lever, frame studs for detachable stock, sling swivel forward of triggerguard, hammer nose notch rear sight and dovetailed blade front sight. All visbile numbers match, however the barrel was likely renumbered and the ill fitting grip was never numbered. Frame with "US" mark under Colt mark, "C" sub-inspection marks throughout and a one-line "New York City" address. Grip appears to be a modern replacement with two crisp cartouches. Overall the revovler appears to be an excellent restoratoin of an extremely rare martial stocked Colt Navy revovler with some parts replaced and some likley renumbered. From a few feet it displays like a $20,000+ gun. Detailed examination reveals the shortcomings but it is still a lovely and attractive place filler for a collector who is unlikely to ever find such an example for sale and in the apparent condition of this gun.

Pickup & Shipping: Free pickup in Gardnerville, NV. FedEx 2-Day Air shipping within the continental U.S.: $85 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing). Combined shipping available.

Condition

Very Fine as restored and refinished. Bore very good with moderate oxidation, some light pitting and crisp rifling. Metal with most of a museum quality applied restored blue. Frame, hammer and loading lever with most of the restored muted case colors. Markings clear and crisp throughout. Mechanically functional actoin. Grip fine, with some marks and an apparent modern replacement, which is somewhat ill fitting with the grip strap proud of the wood.
