A blue enamel rank panel at the base displays two gold stars, denoting captaincy within the department’s rank structure.The reverse retains the applied maker’s seal reading “ENTENMANN-ROVIN CO. / GENUINE ‘CARLTONE GOLD’ / PICO RIVERA, CALIF.” and is fitted with a vertical pinback and locking catch. Bright gold-tone finish and crisp enamel work are characteristic of late 20th century Entenmann-Rovin production.
