Framed World War One bond drive poster "And They Thought We Couldn't Fight". The "Victory Liberty Loan" was the 5th and final war bonds drive for WW1, it began in April 1919. The Impressionist art of an excited, if a bit worse for wear soldier with his war trophies was painted by Clyde Forsythe (1885-1962). He was a Californian painter but when WW1 broke out he was doing commercial art
for magazines
in New York. He did a lot of good propaganda art for the war.
