WW2 Japanese late war Kai-gunto (naval officer's sword). Features a Toyokawa navy arsenal stamped rust resistant blade, The tang also has kanji painted on it. Solid Iron tsuba, lacquered scabard with gilt brass fittings. Grip has normal cloth wrap but under that a gray mesh substitutes the normal ray skin.
Dimensions: 25.5" blade (measured end of habaki to tip), 38.75" overall.

Condition
Has an inventory number laser penciled into the tsuba. This was done by the Pilkingtons after a burglary. No rust or corrosion , the blade has light scuffs. Scabbard has minor blemishes.
