Austro-Hungarian WWI General Aircrew Badge (Luftfahrerabzeichen) of bronze with multi-colored enamel. The badge displays a downward-swooping eagle grasping lightning bolts, set within an enamel laurel wreath and surmounted by the crowned monogram “K” for Kaiser Karl I. Below, the three crowned shields represent Austria, Bohemia, and Hungary. Fitted with an upper downward-facing hook and a lower upward-facing retaining hook for uniform attachment. This badge was awarded to aircraft observers and balloon pilots.

Condition
Good. Enamel shows moderate surface wear with chipping to edges and light loss of color in high areas. Bronze with uniform dark patina, some oxidation and wear consistent with age. Suspension hooks remain complete and functional.
