Three-piece construction with magnetic iron core and silver frame, showing the 1939 date and central swastika to the obverse. Reverse stamped “L/13” and fitted with a threaded screwpost and circular domed securing nut. This decoration recognized individual acts of valor or outstanding service in combat.
