An oval hollow-backed badge in silvered bronze, surmounted by a Bavarian crown and encircled by laurel and oak leaves. The central field depicts an eagle in flight over a target on a radiating ground, symbolizing marksmanship and aerial proficiency. A ribbon bow inscribed “Luft” adorns the base. Reverse impressed with maker’s mark Carl Poellath, Schrobenhausen.
Produced during the Imperial period and awarded for distinction in aerial or air-related shooting competitions, this example reflects the fine workmanship typical of Poellath’s early aviation and marksmanship pieces.
Approx. 3 x 1.875 in., hollow construction.
