World War II-era British Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife. The beaded and ribbed pattern is a rare variation of the second pattern sykes knife, generally attributed to William Rodgers company. Grip has broadarrow over 5 mark. The crossguard is marked “ENGLAND,” indicating wartime or immediate postwar British export. Retains its original leather scabbard with chape replaced with a round brass one and elastic retaining strap with a snap closure. The Fairbairn-Sykes knife was developed for British Commandos and Special Operations Executive personnel and became one of the most recognizable combat knives of the Second World War.
