WWII-period German Luftschutz (Air Raid Protection) steel helmet in the characteristic three-piece “gladiator” pattern, finished in dark blue paint and retaining a large silver Luftschutz winged decal to the front. The interior skirt bears the printed approval marking “Höchstpreis 8.00 RM / Vertrieb genehmigt gemäß §8 Luftschutzgesetz / Kopfweite: 56,” indicating government-approved distribution under the German Air Protection Law. The shell retains a partially obscured RL2 manufacturer designation beneath an old paper inventory label. Complete with its original leather liner and chinstrap. Luftschutz helmets were issued to civilian air raid wardens and auxiliary personnel responsible for civil defense duties during the Second World War.
