Mid-19th-century copper powder flask embossed with the classic fouled-anchor and U.S.N. (United States Navy) motif, issued circa 1846. The top brass collar is marked with inspector’s initials “ADAMS” and “J.S.P.” along with date “1846,” denoting U.S. naval contract manufacture by Ames Mfg. Co., Chicopee, Massachusetts. These flasks were supplied for use with naval pistols and rifles during the Mexican-American War and early Civil War periods. Retains its original suspension rings and a working charger mechanism, displaying a rich patinated surface and clear markings.

Very good for age with even patina and moderate handling wear. Brass top and spout retain original finish, inspection markings legible, minor oxidation, and no significant dents or structural damage.
