Group of three steel engraving plates replicating the iconic roll-engraved cylinder scenes from Colt percussion revolvers, each engraved with historic imagery and inscriptions by Waterman Lilly Ormsby of New York. The scenes include: the “Texas Ranger and Indian Fight” used on the Colt Dragoon and Walker models, the “Naval Battle of Campeche” (Engaged 16 May 1843) from the 1851 Navy revolver, and the “Stagecoach Holdup” scene of the 1849 Pocket Model. Each plate bears the Colt’s Patent marking, with Ormsby’s engraved signature visible on the Dragoon plate. These flat steel examples are mid-20th-century Colt factory or authorized reproductions taken directly from the original 1840s–1850s dies for collector and display use, showing authentic line detail and period coloration from the rolling process. Dimensions approx.: 1.625 x 5.75 in.; 1 x 5 in.; 0.875 x 4 in. Provenance: The Al and Carol Cali Collection. Pickup & Shipping: This lot may be picked up free of charge in Gardnerville, NV. It can also be delivered to the Annex Auctions facility for pick up in Sacramento for $25 pre invoice. Shipping via FedEx within the continental U.S. for $50 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing). Combined lot shipping available.

Condition

Very good, showing moderate oxidation, patina, and scattered surface spotting consistent with age. Engraved imagery remains legible and distinct across all three examples, with even coloration and no active corrosion.
