A fine set of four late 19th-century American percussion cap tins representing early production from the Union Metallic Cartridge Co., Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Connecticut. Includes one UMC Colt’s Patent Belt and Pocket Pistols tin marked “100 Foil Lined Percussion Caps,” one UMC Central Fire tin with green label “Ground Edge / Foil Lined,” one Hicks’ Winchester Central Fire tin marked “100 F.L. No. 10,” and one Winchester “J. Goldmark’s Foil Lined Center Fire Stayness” tin. Each retains its original paper label with strong color and legibility. Unopened examples are presumed to contain their full original complement of percussion caps. Dimensions approx.: 1.625 in. dia. × 0.625 in. H each Provenance: The Al and Carol Cali Collection.
