Mid-19th century copper percussion cap box marked on the lid B. KITTREDGE & CO. GUN DEALERS CIN. O., with patent information dated January 27, 1863 and reissued April 4, 1865. Benjamin Kittredge & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio, were noted arms dealers and outfitters supplying firearms and accessories during and after the American Civil War. The hemispherical form features a hinged lid, blued steel spring latch, and twin belt loops on the reverse for attachment.

Condition
Very good with light handling marks and mellow patina overall; lid opens and closes securely. Blue finish on latch remains visible.
