Well-struck silver restrike of the Imperial German Naval Aviation badge design, featuring the crowned oval wreath enclosing a flying seabird above a coastal landscape vignette with buildings and shoreline, the lower portion tied with a ribbon bow. The reverse is stamped with a maker’s shield associated with C.E. Juncker of Berlin above the silver mark “800.” The original badge was instituted during the First World War and awarded to personnel serving in the Imperial German Navy’s seaplane and naval aviation units. This example appears to be a later collector restrike produced in silver using the traditional Juncker-style design.
